Every child deserves equal opportunity to learn, grow healthy, and develop compassion—regardless of family income or background.(see the generated image above)
Children in Varanasi’s underserved communities face unique barriers:
Limited access to quality education and learning support
Health and nutrition gaps affecting school attendance and focus
Lack of awareness about kindness towards animals and environment
Few safe spaces to express ideas and build confidence
By focusing on children aged 5-14, Sumanlata Foundation breaks poverty cycles, builds responsible citizens, and strengthens communities long-term.
Sumanlata Foundation is a Varanasi-based non-profit dedicated to holistic child development through four pillars:(see the generated image above)
Education: Learning support, foundational skills, school retention
Health & Nutrition: Check-ups, hygiene awareness, balanced meals
Animal Protection: Compassion education, community kindness
Child Participation: Empowering kids as active partners in solutions
Our Core Belief: No child should be left behind due to circumstances they cannot control. Every child has unlimited potential when given opportunity, guidance, and care.
We conduct awareness drives to highlight the importance of education and ensure that all children are enrolled in school.
We prevent child marriage and child labour by creating awareness about the harmful effects of these practices. Additionally, we connect families with MNREGA job opportunities.
We ensure children receive timely vaccinations and sufficient nutrition by connecting them to government healthcare services
